The books of great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov are very popular in Norway, chairman of domestic producers Bakyt Degenbaev told Kabar Agency.
He said that Norwegian readers remember and like Aitmatov's works "Jamilya", "And longer than a century lasts a day" and "Plakh".
The first book, which was translated into Norwegian, was the book of the writer "Ascension to Fujiyama" in 1976.

Recall that at the 35th meeting of the international organization of Turkic culture (TURKSOY) it was decided to declare 2018 the Year of Chyngyz Aitmatov.
During 2018, various events will be held under the auspices of TURKSOY in its member countries.
