On February 10, 2015 Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov and Japanese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Takayuki Koike discussed the results of the UNDP project "Strengthening the capacity to respond to emergencies and risk assessment in the Kyrgyz Republic and the promotion of regional dialogue for the establishment of cooperation", funded by the Government of Japan.
Minister Kubatbek Boronov noted the significant contribution of the Government of Japan in disaster risk reduction and thanked the Japanese Ambassador Takayuki Koike for the support.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the concept of the second phase of the UNDP project and the participation of the official delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic at the World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, which will be held in Sendai, 14-18 March 2015 year.
During the meeting, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov awarded the Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan Takayuki Koike the MES medal "For strengthening of civil-military cooperation."
