Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Djoomart Otorbaev today met with Executive Director of the World Bank Joerg Frieden, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reports.
Opening the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for assistance in social and economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic. In particular, the recent decision of the Board of Directors of the World Bank to allocate Kyrgyzstan US $ 24 million for reforms in energy sector.
Otorbaev spoke about the current political situation in Kyrgyzstan, and informed about the results of development of the country for 2014.
The Prime Minister added that on December 24, 2014 the Coordinating Council on macroeconomic and investment policy has been supported the World Bank's strategy for the Kyrgyz Republic for 2014-2017. This strategy, comply with basic priorities of the National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2013-2017.
The Prime Minister expressed hope for further cooperation with the World Bank in implementation of Development Policy Operation Program.
Further, the parties discussed in detail the process of implementation of joint projects.
The sides noted the need to maintain stability for economic development and improving the investment attractiveness of the country.
