The Parliament held the Parliamentarian Women's Forum on January 15.
MP Aynur Altybayeva (Ar-Namys faction) spoke about the work, which was done by the members of the association in 2014.
"The Forum operates in three areas: strengthening women's political participation in Kyrgyzstan, social support for women, and work with environmental concerns. Thus, talking about the “green” agenda of the Forum, we decided to support the efforts of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry for the organization of specially protected natural area for the conservation and breeding of the unique Aigul flower growing in Batken region," Altybayeva said.
"In the next month we planned to pay working visits to the regions; we are also going to visit the famous hill in the village of Karabulak. The works of fencing of the flower growing area has been already started, to complete them, $170 thousand is needed, we have requested these funds in the budget," Altybayeva added.
Aigul flower (Fritillaria eduardii) is endemic, which mainly grows on the northern slope of the Aigul-Tash ridge 17 kilometers from the town of Batken.
