The number of completed suicides among men is normally 4 times more than among women. On the other hand, women attempt to commit suicide 4 times more often than men do, but they choose the methods, which are significantly less likely to lead to death.

The World Health Organization (WHO) divides all countries in terms of suicide into three groups. High and very high suicide rate, for example, Lithuania, South Korea, Guyana, Kazakhstan, and other countries. The second category is the average suicide rate, which includes Finland, Estonia, France, Moldova, and others. And the last category is the the countries with low suicide rate, which includes Australia, Germany, and Georgia.

In Egypt, Haiti, and Jamaica, the suicide rate is close to zero.
