On December 12 Prime Minister Djoomart Otorbaev met with a delegation of St. Petersburg headed by chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Yevgeny Grigoryev.
At the beginning of the meeting the Prime Minister noted that Kyrgyzstan actively collaborated with St. Petersburg in the days of the Soviet Union.
"We continue working together actively," said Otorbaev and added that cooperation is also being actively developed thanks to efforts of the governor of the city of Georgy Poltavchenko.
The Kyrgyz Prime Minister expressed confidence in strengthening relations between St. Petersburg and Kyrgyzstan after the country's entry into the Eurasian Economic Union.
The Prime Minister called on the Russian authorities to consider investment opportunities of St. Petersburg companies that could invest in Kyrgyzstan.
Grigoriev recalled that in the framework of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and St. Petersburg in 2015 a number of activities are planned, including the Day of Culture of St. Petersburg in Bishkek and Culture Day of Bishkek in St. Petersburg.
In addition, the parties also discussed the development of tourism and the need of development of internal inter-regional tourism.
