Tenge/som exchange rate rises by 8.93% since February tenge devaluation in Kazakhstan - National Bank

Since the devaluation of the tenge in February 2014 in Kazakhstan, the exchange rate of KZT to KGS has increased by 8.93% from 0.2799 (February 13) to 0.3049 (October 20) som per tenge, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan told AKIpress.

According to the regulatory body, the cause of the growth was affected by the growth of dollar to som.

"Back in February, the National Bank of Kazakhstan said it has devalued the tenge with the stock, so another reason for tenge strengthening might be extension of the lower limits of fluctuations of the dollar to tenge from 182-188 to 170-188 (tenge per dollar),” said the National Bank.
