5,537 cases of HIV infection are officially registered in Kyrgyzstan as of September 1, according to the National AIDS Center.
5,296 people out of the total number are citizens of Kyrgyzstan, including 3,608 men and 1,688 women. There are 667 AIDS patients in the country.
1,012 people with HIV infection died.
Since beginning of the year, 401 HIV-infected people have been registered, including 216 men and 185 women. 102 of them are injecting drug users.
The number of diagnosed cases of HIV infection is increasing year by year. The rate increased by 20% compared with the same period in 2013.
