Jogorku Kenesh deputy Talant Uzakbaev wants officials involved in illegal house constructions around Bishkek and Osh to be brought to justice.
«We ought to hold accountable those officials who have links with unlawful constructions around Bishkek and Osh», - said the deputy at a session of the committee on agrarian policy, water resources and regional development on Monday.
Despite of the government decree, he says, which states agricultural lands are not subject to transformation, newly built sites around Bishkek and Osh are daily growing.
«People built houses on their own and then they will need power, drainage system and water to their houses. All these are permitted by corrupt officials. These illegal site developments rise because officials take bribes and permit them to do so», - he said.
Residents of villages Novopavlovka and Voenno-Antonovka of Sokuluk districts were invited to the session, who stated that the number of illegally built houses is growing.
«Houses are being erected at a rapid pace, and then they are being resold. Builders say that these lands belong to deputies or senior officials, by overtly saying they are covered by high ranking officials», - said the residents.
