Earthquake jolted Issyk-Kul oblast

On 16 August at 03:42 am of local time the seismological station of the Institute of Seismology, National Academy of Sciences recorded earthquake in the epicenter of 5.6 magnitude 5.6 magnitude on 12-level MSK-64 scale, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

According to preliminary data of the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, the earthquake is located on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, 35 km north-west of the village Ananjevo, 25 km north-east of the village Bosteri, 104 km north-west of Karakol.
