There are 210,000 unemployed citizens in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Youth reports.
The overall unemployment rate makes 8.4%, the Ministry said with reference to the National Statistical Committee.
The highest unemployment rate is observed in Batken region – 10.8%. It is followed by Osh city – 10.7%, Naryn region – 10.2%. Unemployment rate in Chui and Issyk-Kul regions makes 9.9% and 9.6% accordingly.
A high unemployment rate is reported in Bishkek – 8.7%. The overall unemployment rate below the average country rate is observed in Osh region (6.8%), Jalal-Abad region (8.4%). The lowest unemployment rate is in Talas region – 4.1%.
The official unemployment level made 2.3% across the country by July 1. The highest level is reported in Naryn region – 6.7%, the lowest level in Chui region – 1.5%. Bishkek, Talas and Osh regions have official unemployment level below the country average rate – 1.7%, 2.2% and 1.9% respectively. Batken and Jalal-Abad regions have the official unemployment rate higher than the country average level – 3.2% and 2.6% accordingly.
93,700 people have been registered with the employment services. 58,500 of them have the official unemployed status. The proportion of young people among unemployed citizens makes 42%.
