At a meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan, representatives of international election observers in Kyrgyzstan recognized its transparency, legitimacy and democracy.
Representatives of the European Parliament stressed that the presidential elections were held openly and preparation for them was at a high level.
The representative of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Fiala Doris, expressed regret that in the presidential election among 11 candidates there was only one woman.
In turn, Kyrgyz President noted that in Kyrgyzstan gender equality is observed. The President gave an example that the heads of the Central Election Commission, the Supreme Court and even the Prosecutor General in Kyrgyzstan are women.
"We have a lot of talented, competent girls and I believe that even in the next election among the presidential candidates there will be more women. The most important thing is that a person should be worthy. I am confident that here also Kyrgyzstan will be first," Atambaev said.
The President thanked all the observers for their work and invited them to come to Kyrgyzstan more often than just to have a rest.
Observers from the CIS, SCO, TurkPA, EuroParliament took part in the meeting with A. Atambaev. They have observed the Presidential election which took place on Sunday and S.Jeenbekov was elected as the fifth President of Kyrgyzstan.
