Kyrgyzstan-native Valentina Shevchenko was paid $70,000 for a canceled fight against current UFC bantamweight champion among women Amanda Nunes, UFC president Dana White said.
When Amanda Nunes finally meets Valentina Shevchenko in the octagon again, it won’t be the main event, he said.
“I won’t main event that title again,” White told reporters.
Nunes' withdrawal decision was "90 percent mental, 10 percent physical,” Dana White said.
White told reporters after UFC 213 that Nunes was healthy.
The Nunes-Shevchenko fight is scheduled for Sept. 9 at UFC 215, White said. The UFC didn’t strip Nunes of her belt, they didn’t pay her for UFC 213.
