Four Kyrgyz citizens detained by Uzbek police not released yet

our Kyrgyz citizens detained by Uzbek police have been returned to Kyrgyzstan yet.

The situation remains unchanged, the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan told AKIpress on August 25.

“According to the Uzbek side, Kyrgyzstanis were detained in the special operation. We demand to return them to Kyrgyzstan,” the Border Service said.

Four workers of Kyrgyzstan's radio relay station on the Ungar-Too Mountain were detained, including Abdumitalip Urmanov, Urmat Berdaliyev, Jenish Tashmatov and Nurbek Usupbayev.

They were take to the Yangikurgan district police department of Uzbekistan as part of investigation procedures.

It was reported earlier Uzbek law enforcers landed on the disputable area of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. Uzbekistan demanded to release an Uzbek law enforcer detained by Kyrgyz authorities and to remove security blocks around the Orto-Tokoi water reservoir.

Though Kyrgyzstan released the Uzbek law enforcer some time later, representatives of Uzbekistan did not leave the disputable area of the border.
