Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic identifies priority directions in the field of science

Minister of Education and Science Elvira Sarieva met with Executive Director of the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), Mr. David Cleave to discuss the priorities for scientific researches in order to optimize the contribution of ISTC in the Kyrgyz economy. The press service of the Ministry of Education reports.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of the ISTC from Kazakhstan Aydin Turebaev, curator of projects from EU Fritz Graham, director of science and scientific and technical information of the Ministry of Education Abdimannap Muratov.

During the meeting, the minister discussed research priorities, the possibility of interaction between scientists on comprehensive, targeted programs on a regional scale, as well as work on large-scale, cross-border projects (seismic hazard, infectious risks, water resources, climate, etc.).

Note that the International Science and Technology Center is the largest inter-governmental organization established by the EU, Russia, the US and Japan. For 20 years, 17 research institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the ISTC received funding worth over $ 28 million.
