It is planned to establish a single customs register of intellectual property within the Eurasian Economic Union, Minister for Economy and Financial Policies of the Eurasian Economic Commission Timur Suleimenov said at the 3rd International Forum “Antikontrafakt 2015.”
So far, the national registers have some differences, he noted. The mechanisms for the protection of intellectual property is not generalized in the EAEU member states, he said.
There should a single customs register of intellectual property, a document that will record all the brands, said the Minister.
Suleimenov added that the draft agreement that will ensure the functioning of the single customs register has been developed and received the intergovernmental approval.
Implementation of the agreement will contribute to fight against counterfeit goods on the entire territory of the EAEU, he said.
