The State Registration Service proposes introduction of biometric registration for all persons entering the country, including foreign nationals, Registration Service Chairman Tairbek Sarpashev said at a round table on November 24 in Bishkek.
This is necessary for control of migrants and other persons, fight against international terrorism. The respective document was already presented to donor community for consideration, Tairbek Sarpashev stated.
Around 3 million citizens of Kyrgyzstan underwent biometric registration, including 2.761 million citizens above 18 years.
Biometric passports may be issued to citizens of Kyrgyzstan since 2016 if political will is in place, Registration Service Chairman concluded.
