Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev met with Director of the Delegation of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) in Bishkek Andrey Shirokov.
The prospects of implementation of joint projects between Kyrgyzstan and EDB were discussed during the meeting, the Kyrgyz Government’s press office reports.
Sariev noted the importance of implementation of the agreements signed in the energy sector, namely "Rehabilitation of Toktogul HPP" (Phase 2) in Kyrgyzstan in the amount of 100 million US dollars.
The Kyrgyz Prime Minister also stressed the strategic importance of priority of such a project as commissioning of the second generating unit of Kambarata HPP-2 and expressed hope for an early signing of the agreements.
"This project will increase the amount of electricity generated by reducing its deficit and reduce the consumption of water from the Toktogul reservoir in winter. It is important for development of economy," said Sariev.
In turn, Director of the Representative of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) in Bishkek Andrey Shirokov said that work on financing of these projects is being active.
