Anti-corruption agencies in cooperation with the National Security Committee of Bishkek detained the State Registration Service officer with a bribe of 10 thousand som ($180) detained on April 8 in Bishkek.
It has been established that the detainee artificially created obstacles for emergency passports issuance and was receiving bribes for speeding up this process.
A criminal probe was launched; investigation is underway.
The fixed rate for urgent issuance of the passport within two days is 4,220 som, the authorities warn.
