Djoomart Otorbaev: "We have a lot of work to harmonize standards in the veterinary field"

We have a lot of work to harmonize standards in the veterinary field, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Djoomart Otorbaev said during a meeting in Bishkek with representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and representatives of veterinary authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member states.

Opening the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the governments, authorities and experts of the participating countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and members of the Eurasian Economic Commission for diligent and professional work in completing the accession process of the Kyrgyz Republic to the EEU. We are making an important step for our country. There will be significant, tectonic shifts in the economic cooperation of the EEU participating countries, said Otorbaev.

The head of government recalled that the external borders of Kyrgyzstan will become external borders EEU. Thus, we take on the full range of obligations in accordance with the standards adopted in the EEU. We have no doubt that we need to make this work at the highest level, he said.

The Prime Minister said that in the framework of joining the EEU we need to bring legislation in all areas of cooperation in accordance with the requirements of the EEU and implement roadmaps. We have a lot of work to harmonize standards in the veterinary field, he added.

According Dzh.Otorbaev to conduct joint inspection 5 areas with representatives of the State Inspectorate for veterinary and phytosanitary security in Kyrgyzstan arrived 18 inspectors from ECE and EAEC countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia.

The first group of inspectors will inspect facilities in Kyrgyzstan, which plan to carry out deliveries of meat and dairy products to Russia and other states of the Eurasian Economic Union. The second group will work on the assessment of the epizootic situation in Kyrgyzstan. The third group will evaluate the work of the laboratory network in Kyrgyzstan. The fourth group will assess material and technical condition and equipment of checkpoints on the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic. The fifth group will evaluate the control and supervision of medicinal products for veterinary use in the Kyrgyz Republic, visit the Center for Certification of Veterinary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the company for the production of pharmaceuticals for veterinary use, organizations engaged in wholesale and retail trade of veterinary drugs.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the EEU. We are ready to make every effort so that our work has been successful, and in the future we can deepen our cooperation, he concluded.
