Turkey doesn not lift protective duty on bean since new year. Ministry of Agriculture and Melioration told KyrTAG Wednesday.
«We suggested Turkey to remove 20% protective duty on bean. They promised to consider the question but the issue stays still open», - said the ministry.
We note, that Turkey last year introduced protective duty on bean, but due to poor harvest they cancelled it. And kyrgyz producers used to sell their product to Turkey. However, this year bean harvest was abundant worldwide. And Turkey again set import duties to protect its producers.
«Prices for bean dropped from 60-70 soms per kg to 50. It happened because 50-60% of beans were exported to Turkey, but since September 3 it intoduced 20% duty, and export to other countries is in small amount», - said the Ministry.
