There are 165 thousand right-hand drive cars in Kyrgyzstan, this was reported yesterday during the plenary meeting of the Parliament.
It was necessary to prohibit import of these cars during the preparation of joining to Customs Union, Member of the Parliament Bakhtiyar Kadyrov said.
"Today we signed the Treaty of Accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Eurasian Economic Union. When we join the Customs Union, the flow of cars from other countries will increase. That is why we talk about prohibition of right-hand drive cars", he explained.
48 thousand right-hand drive cars were imported to Kyrgyzstan in 2014.
“While we do not accept the bill, many right-hand drive cars will be imported to Kyrgyzstan. That is why we have to consider the mechanism of prohibition,” MP concluded.
