Physicians rate makes 22.5 per 10 thousand population in Kyrgyzstan. In particular, obstetrician-gynecologists amount to 1.7; intensivists – to 1; neonatologists – to 0.3; pediatricians – to 0.9, according to a report presented at the board meeting of the Ministry of Health on maternal and infant mortality.
Furthermore, the city of Bishkek has 26.3 physicians per 10 thousand population, Jalal-Abad region – 14, and Naryn region – 13.5.
On average, 19.2% of doctors continue working after retirement, and 1.8% of doctors are young graduates.
The lowest ratio of physicians reside in Naryn (7.3) and Jumgal (9.2) districts of Naryn region, and in Suzak (8.8), Chatkal (8.4), Ala-Buka (9.6) and Toktogul (9,9) districts of Jalal-Abad region.
For the first 9 months of 2014, 763 doctors quit and 936 arrived, mainly unprepared graduates or young professionals.
