Rasul Tezekbayev, a sportsman of Kyrgyzstan, won the gold medal of the Asia-Oceania Grappling Championship in South Korea, Vice President of the ADCC Grappling Federation Nurlan Muradilov told AKIpress.
The tournament was held on December 7 in Seoul with the participation of sportspeople from 15 countries. Tezekbayev performed in the weight category up to 66 kg and managed to reach the finals.
In the decisive battle, he met against Busurmankul Abdibait uulu, another representative of Kyrgyzstan. He still triumphed and won the title, while Abdibait uulu won the silver medal.
Abdurakhmankhaji Murtazaliyev one more silver medal for the team of Kyrgyzstan in the weight category up to 88 kg.
The Asia-Oceania Grappling Championship was held for the first time, and was the selection tour for the Grappling Championship 2015 which will be held in Brazil.
In the team standings, Kyrgyzstan was ranked the second following by the only Australia team.
